Stone Soldier uses the time-honored method of making pottery on
the potter's wheel, together with modern techniques of contemporary pottery. Each
piece reflects the skill, experience and personality of the potter...
Each pottery piece is decorated by hand. The striking glaze combinations are meticulously applied by hand
dipping and pouring. The glazed pottery is then loaded into the kiln
for the final process; the firing. A distinctive technique called "Reduction Firing" is used by Stone Soldier Pottery, and
special care is taken to bring out the finest variegated colors and
mottled textures. The firing process takes a full day to complete, and reaches
temperatures in excess of 2300 degrees Fahrenheit! The kiln is
then allowed to cool for two days before being opened, to reveal the stunning handmade pottery creations waiting inside.
